The Celestial Argonauts
When?Start time: Saturday 7:30pm (17 March)
End time: Saturday 10:30pm (17 March)
The ancient constellation of Argo Navis, the Ship of the Argonauts, encompasses one of the most brilliant regions of the Milky Way. Here we find the Great Nebula in Carina – a vast cloud of glowing gas studded with stars and star clusters. At its heart can be Eta Carinae - a colossal unstable star - the brightest star known in the Galaxy. In this presentation we explore the wonders of Argo Navis and, weather permitting, we observe them through one of our large telescopes. Bookings recommended. Fee: Adults $20, Seniors $15, Children $5.
